Mithi: Approximately 14 more children died in Thar within past three days due to malnutrition and outbreak
of diseases.
As per details received from Mithi, Thar, three month old Liaquat, six months old Pancho, one month old Jameel Ahmed, and two infants Abdul Hai and Imam Bux died on Friday.
Also, two month old Hussain, three month old Jalil, two months old Sarwan, and six newborns namely Parkash, Ranbeer, Zulfikar, Waseem Ahmed, Mohen Lal and Prem lost their lives in past three days.
The death toll including these 14 recent deaths rose to 496 this year. Meanwhile, parents carrying their ailing children at civil hospital of Thar told media that they were being forced to take their kids to Hyderabad and Karachi hospitals.
On the other hand, DHO Thar Dr Chandar Lal revealed that so far 982 kids with serious condition have been referred to hospitals in Hyderabad and Karachi. “Most of the children being brought from remote areas are in serious condition so the medical superintend referred them toHyderabad and Karachi for better treatment,” said Lal.
He admitted that they did not have record of all those children being referred to other hospitals whether they survived or died.
