LAHORE – Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael on Tuesday said that whole nation including minorities was united to root out extremism and terrorism from the country.
Talking to journalists, on the occasion of inaugurating the Bab-e-Shuhada here, he said that political and military leadership had ruined the nefarious designs of enemies. He said that the minorities wanted stability and progress in Pakistan.
“We pay tribute to all martyrs including those of Youhanabad incident who have sacrificed their lives for the country,” he said and added that sacrifices of martyrs would not go in waste.
Michael said that only those nations become successful which faced challenges with courage, adding that Pakistani nation had full potential and courage for facing problems and no one could defeat such nation.
The minister said that leader of Christian community Pope Francis would visit Pakistan in the end of current year on the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. During his visit Pope Francis would pay tribute to the martyrs of war against terrorism and it would give a good message to the world, the minister said.
Later, Michael also visited the affected Church and joined the people in pray for the martyrs.
